Director's Biography:

Prithvi Konanur graduated from the New York Film Academy and debuted with a feature film, Waves (2012). His second feature, Railway Children (2016), was introduced at several film festivals including the Mumbai IFF and received the Special Jury Mention at the Zlin FF. His third film, Where is Pinki? (2020), had a world premiere at the Window on Asian Cinema section at Busan IFF. It then continued to be introduced garnering awards at numerous film festivals including the Hong Kong IFF, the Golden Horse FF, and the Mumbai IFF.

Synopsis:

Preparing to enrol in university, Deepa and Hari are in love. When a video they record in an empty classroom after school gets uploaded to a porn site, the school convenes a committee to punish them. Yet the committee’s decisions find themselves crippled by the social-caste identities of the two students, provoking markedly different reactions. With the involvement of the human rights activist and lawyer Jesse, the issue takes a dramatic turn.
