Pema Tseden is a Tibetan director, screenwriter and author. Most of Pema Tseden’s films were shot in Tibetan language by Tibetan teams. His films include The Search, Old Dog, Tharlo and, Jinpa. From his realistic, meticulous portrayal of his native land, people have a new understanding of Tibetan culture and its living conditions. His films have been nominated at festivals like Venice, Locarno, Toronto and other film festivals, where they have received multiple accolades. His last feature Jinpa won Best Screenplay Award in the Orizzonti section at the 75th Venice FF.
On the Tibetan grasslands, Dargye and Drolkar live a serene and ordinary life with their three sons and the grandfather. A condom sparks a series of embarrassment and dilemma, breaking the harmony of the family. What matters more in the circle of life and death, soul or reality?
