Suyog Deshpande is an independent film-maker. In the year 2006-07 he started pursuing film making through work experience from assisting several films and documentaries with FTII and other Productions. After that he assisted Dr. Jabbar Patel for his feature films. He directed several commercial, social films. Since last year he is teaching film making to tribal students around Pune.
“MOOL” (THE ROOTS) is a documentary about tribal herbs and their uses. Tribal people have interesting stories of how they found medicinal qualities of any herbs. They transfer their knowledge in ancestral way. They have unique way to preserve their knowledge from being misused, they don’t share it as it will result in vanishing the jungles and treasure of herbs around them.
